La Canaille – Par Temps de Rage (La Canaille / L'autre distribution)

The Canaille - Time For Rage (The Canaille / The other distribution)

Genre: Hip-Hop, Rock

Released: February 28

Almost two years. This is the time it took for me to head out of the water after the first "A drop of honey in a liter of lead, heavy with meaning, sound, ambience. Hard to swallow, because the word is slashed, the incisive pen and ideas are dense. The kind of album you listen to from beginning to end, to understand and t'imprégner, but you let also set aside time to catch your breath and to digest the different perspectives. The

Canaille is also and above all, for me, a perspective on the world. Obviously, one does not smile much. You let yourself tell this dark urban poetry and fell on paper by Marc Nammour. Understand that "In times of rage" was not an easy task. Finally there plunges fairly well, and everything starts from scratch with a few notes and this beat already very heavy. The lesson started after a few seconds. Overall, the topology of the album is not so different from the first. It oscillates between the stories we tell MC ("Party locations," "The Dragon", "The water is rising"), where one begins in the mouth the lyrics blacks, sagas that go wrong and that describe a troubled lives but real.

interest of the album is there: listen to what one does not usually, what happens when the faces under the masks have fallen, and when the actors engage them- same. "In times of rage" thus describes the daily hidden that we do not want to see. Hence the difficult access to the albums. Other topics enchainent So, speaking as a "Uprising, which will take place, that the difficult understanding of" Anger ", untamable and closing the album:" But if I contain, if I dominates / If I make it my ally, hidden under my chest / It's amazing the strength that emanates from his tub / When it is legitimate and that defies the lamb the wolf. "

All this is explained in "My poetry does not wash," and in "I put in," and more text on current generation 70/80. And it is certainly because his generation "jaded has seen nothing glorious," that "My line of sight "Is an ode to simplicity. "A pair of jeans, sneakers, or necktie or straw / Rest easy in my head / That's life I chose." It continues with the feelings so real "Too easy", which describes a hypocrisy room, cooking in your apartment, even in the highest spheres of government.

is why we do not emerge unscathed from an album of the rabble. Unable to forget Mathieu Lalande (guitars, keyboards), Walter Pagliani (bass, bass, keyboards) and Nicolas Rinaldi (scratches), complementing the band and make the album seem so dense and powerful. Besides a few guests instruments, we also note the presence of U.S. rapper Napoleon Maddox on two tracks.

"Time For Rage thus realizes the work of a good columnist inspired storyteller of a generation too often disappointed and to its decor. You can not pass this album in the evening to address the audience. One ear listening and alert the senses with a good dose of humility before the show some time later. Just to see if things have changed.

Wagon Christ – Toomorow (Ninja Tune)

Wagon Christ - Toomorow (Ninja Tune)

Genre: Electronic, Trip Hop, Breakbeat

Released: March 14

What a good news! Wagon Christ returns to service, machine control and samples chelous for a new album in March. And if I did not say stupidity, the latest installment goes back to 2004 anyway. In any case under this nickname, as Wagon Christ Luke Vibert is. And meanwhile, the man has not been idle.

Whoever is in place at Ninja Tune for 10 years now also seems to have lost none of the identity Wagon Christ. That is certainly the impression given by the first two pieces (below), "Manalize This! "And" Mr. Makatsuku. Me, I left off the last album, "Sorry I Make You Lush", but now I hear makes me more like his first "Tally Ho! '98.

In particular the first 30 seconds of "Manalize This! "These weird samples, with these voices softies, pitchées, expedited, crushed in all directions before the crash. And this beat, breakbeat, in fact, syncopated and elastic, which are outbid on these votes, then point Electronic punches. Wagon Christ royally hammered on the first song already terrifying.

The man has lost nothing and throw yourself body and soul on "Mr. Makatsuku. At the outset, the voice of announcer called "ladies and gentlemen," punctuated by "hurry go" before the listener is bored on this chialerie mail. Finally, it is beautiful, tame it before you run smack shots because it mixes disco, electro, breakbeat and acid strange. And it's damn well made. What a slap!

I can not conclude without a word on the cover, made by artist Celyn, futuristic in concept but so finally today.

Autechre – EPs 1991 – 2002 (Warp)

Autechre - EPs from 1991 to 2002 (Warp)

Genre: Electronic, Other

Released: April 11

This news is not really about the release of a new album but still worth your attention. The pair mi-dieu/mi-humain electronics Autechre released April 11 a box "deluxe" CD consisting of five of the eleven EPs the group released between 1991 and 2002.

A total of 47 tracks with 3 videos, all in an ultra-class packaging. For those not familiar with Autechre, describe their music I will be quite complicated, even impossible, as it is unique, vibrant, complex ... Autechre's music is a bit of an entity by itself that I urge you to Discover (preferably with headphones !).

So if you do not have the EP group or if you do not already know the pearls qu'Autechre has produced since the beginning of his career is a good reason to pounce.

I do not know how many copies will be produced the pack but I would soon be too if I were you. In addition it is proposed to a pretty cool prize (35 euros bleep.com) and even if you do not receive until April, you can download sounds in WAV and MP3 immediately. So as not to lose!

For me it runs in a loop at my house ...

Pigeon John – Dragon Slayer (The Awesome)

Pigeon John - Dragon Slayer (The Awesome)

Genre: Hip-Hop, Pop, Miscellaneous

Released: 7 March

It's been a while since I saw "Pigeon John" flying everywhere. Finally, the album is approaching for the next month, so it's an opportunity to write a few lines. It is fortunate, several pieces are already available on the web, including video.

activist for a good fifteen years, the Californian MC has done a great promo before the release of the album. Easy, by paying the services of Franco-American Hervé Salters aka General Elektrik, who co-produced the album. So obviously nothing to do with a big hip-hop to the U.S., no big bass lines or maddening beats. It will include more flashy synths, acoustic guitars and other instruments not bad for a while but really refreshing swing.

course opened significantly on the general public, Pigeon John is paying the luxury of a large volume visibility even before the release of the album. No wonder, even my mother could head movement. The album seems to be a kind of hybrid music, ignoring boundaries. This warm blend of pop and hip-hop is appealing, and finally for the moment anyway. Even

texts are gratifying. We walk in the stories of the MC on the hassles of daily life, smile, since the tone is quite humorous from what I heard. The formula is perfect for radio. "The Bomb" is the best illustration. Pigeon John is simply a kind of classy crooner dipped in a sauce lightly sprinkled with hip-hop.

The general tenor of the album however seems quite sparse. While the majority of titles that I listened to are energetic, "Davey Rockit" contrasts with the genre. MC sings sweetly, before switching into a hip-hop simple and efficient, which is frankly pleased.

It is too early to make a final opinion. Even if it seems to be a success almost assured.

FaltyDL – You Stand Uncertain (Planet Mu)

FaltyDL - You Stand Uncertain (Planet Mu)

Genre: Dubstep

Released: 14 March

FaltyDL I had left with his first long format "Love Is a Liability " model of rigor, which allowed us to expect a sequel already announced as the most crisp. Indeed, the EP "Bravery " apparently went out and put a slap pretty monumental to those who listened. The test was only put water in his mouth.

And as if that were not enough, the New Yorker Drew Lustman it again with two new EP, "Phreqaflex" and "Endeavour". Meanwhile, fans of the genre were no longer in their chairs, jostled by a musician outsized. So voila!

result, "You Stand Uncertain," in the long format is expected as the messiah by most of us fans. Some of my little brothers even had a chance to listen to it already. And read it all, it does seem that this is one of the major drives of the beginning of 2011.

Until more information, I leave you with "Truth". And above all, a preview of the album's website Planet Mu .

Norman Palm – Shore to Shore (City Slang)

Norman Palm - Shore to Shore (City Slang)

Genre: Pop, Folk, Electronic

Released: February 28

Well, I am met by my discovery of the Day: Norman Palm. Apparently, the group does not seem unknown. Finally, from what I learned, Norman Palm is the singer, accompanied on the next "Shore to Shore" by two musicians.

short, it goes quickly into the heart of the matter, because the album is listening on SoundCloud full and MySpace. Indeed, it is easily carried by this world-folk pop, enhanced by a beautiful voice not necessarily singular. The album itself is relatively equal, though some titles out of the lot outright. The whole is slightly versatile: it ranges from soft music and quiet and more energetic tracks. Not really a story of duality, but I would say complementarity.

"Smile" seems to go on a whirlwind, so it leaves room for a ride yet well measured, returning the ball to "Landslide," the same ilk. Listen Norman Palm strangely with a small grin strange. And it is this: we let ourselves go, caressed by a gentle breeze. This is music to listen on beach, among your friends and a few bottles. Without thinking.

"Easy" is misleading, quickly seems energetic but seems slightly too convoluted, with his little electro synth, broad cloths nauseous, and an underlying rhythm rather special. Everything becomes still quite intoxicating. "Sleeper" as the first "Start / Stop", play the card of seduction, while simplicity.

The favorites are attributed to three pieces that have very little to do. "Images" and "$ 20" are excellent, but nowhere near the superb "Phantom Lover" sort of universal piece and done, through all stages, enhanced by a voice, this time, found a niche for himself while leaving a place yet intelligent instruments.

is hardly the record of the year. But if everyone else could at least have the same level, 2011 will look like a Chateau Margaux The best era.

Beans – End it all (Anticon)

Beans - End It All (Anticon)

Genre: Abstract Hip-Hop

Released: February 15

Scheduled for February 15, the fourth test out solo Beans, once will not hurt, on the Anticon label. Beans has not always been unanimity with his music solo with fans, boasting that they are far from the madness and originality of the big time
Antipop Consortium.

So it is true that some titles were missing a few spirited and sometimes leave the listener a little hungry. But personally charismatic flow of the MC has always packed and some instrumentals stick perfectly to the particular phrasing Beans (see clip below).

To return to this next record, Beans was surrounded by a gaggle of sacred invited to accompany him. Side featuring Tunde Adebimpe find it (TV on the Radio) on the track "Mellow you out." But it is mainly the production we will cross a slew of artists, not least! Four Tet, Ade Firth, DJ Nobody, Bumps (Tortoise), Fred Bigot Prolific That Kid, Tobacco, Sam Fog (Interpol), In Flagranti, Son Lux, etc ...

More importantly, the title is likely to wriggle my esgourdes is the last album, "Hunter "Clark signed an instrumental! Yes sir, yes! When I see quality prods Clark, the association with Beans could be downright insane. I unfortunately could not put the ear, but I'm willing to bet that its going to be terrible.

Just for the purchase of this track record should be required ...

Swot Analysis On Beauty Saloon

James Blake – James Blake (Hemlock Recordings)

James Blake - James Blake (Hemlock Recordings)

Genre: Dubstep, Post-dub

Released: February 7

is slightly behind that I'm talking about the latest creation of James Blake. Impossible to miss, for several reasons. The first is simple and has all the buzz that has been done around the snowman. A bit like Burial had done some years ago with his "Untrue", still beautiful beyond.

James Blake was therefore on course to repeat the formula and try to disinhibit a bit of dubstep in recognition of the general public. However, Britain's two EPs we weight the end of last year, supposed to announce the color of this album.

is perhaps already the case with - known on the web - "Limit To Your Love" (cover of Feist) James Blake will be remembered. A wrinkled her strangely disconcerting, a few piano notes and a voice that reveals a huge potential in the entire disc. Here we leave aside the airy, free glider and dubstep to store more casual, less subtle, technique, but perhaps more accessible.

I could not listen to the album, but early returns are mixed. Maybe not exactly sharp enough. And that's where the perennial debate between music specialist VS uninitiated resurfaced. After much "we said," but the album is listenable on the web. You will, as usual, the only judge.

Agoria - Impermanence (In Fine)

Agoria - Impermanence (bullet)

Genre: Techno , e

Released: January 31

I remember when I discovered Agoria: I been smashed. It was with the album "The Green Armchair" sophomore Sebastien Devaud. Titles like "The violins drunk," "Wrong line" or "Like a bull" transported me outright.

Then I went to delusions and disappointments. Already with the next album "Go Fast" flat as possible, then with the compilations "At the controls" and "Balance 016" not necessarily bad, but it's good compilations, this is not very exciting. On top of that, the only live performance of Agoria I could see (the Ososphère) left me unmoved.

And yet I am always interested in what the guy. "The Green Armchair" is so good it is evident that will spawn other hard, if not the same size, at least good enough to make several trips in my deck.

To return to the disk that interests us here, "Impermanence", I must say that my ear stands! The entire album will be listening this week on the link below. Already five titles are available. It includes a production-haired, relatively customizable titles, featuring the interesting (Kid A, Seth Troxler or Carl Craig). Yeah, it seems to do serious.

There are licked Agoria techno. There may be missing the little bit of originality that makes listening a lot "The green armchair," but the sound is good. Particularly "Panta Rei", which begins in a rather classic but leads to delve into the music with its catchy synths and metronomic beats.

More than wait for the other titles to get an opinion on the entire wafer. But it seems a good start. And honestly ca pleasure!
